Indeya completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at Hampton University, with a minor in Spanish. She has always had a passion for the mental health field and continued to pursue her dreams by obtaining her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University.
Indeya has over 8 years of experience in the mental health field working in difficult environments such as crisis, in settings including the Rockford Center, Connections, and traveling in the community to assess clients and provide therapy. She works with adolescent girls, adults, couples, and families managing a variety of issues that include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), drug and alcohol counseling, effective communication, depression, and anxiety. Indeya specializes in building communication skills and rapport with clients. Her therapeutic philosophy is to create a safe and secure environment for clients to feel comfortable enough to share their personal thoughts , experiences , and beliefs. Indeya believes it is a great honor to be able to guide someone into making the best decisions for their life. One of her favorite philosophies is the infamous quote “To give a man a fish feeds him for one night—but to teach a man to fish feeds him for a lifetime." Her therapeutic techniques include solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), client centered therapy, and mindfulness techniques.
