Jamie DiOrio, PsyD
Dr. Jamie DiOrio is working in the capacity of doctoral psychology resident at Mid-Atlantic Behavioral Health under the supervision of Dr. Kathleen Cherry and Dr. Ilene Weintel, and Dr. Julie Keaveny. Dr. DiOrio is a licensed Psychological Assistant in the state of Delaware. Dr. DiOrio earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from The College of New Jersey, and she earned her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Immaculata University. She is currently completing her post-doctoral residency in an effort to complete requirements for licensure.
Dr. DiOrio has diverse outpatient clinical experience conducting therapy and assessment with children, adolescents, and adults. She has experience practicing in a variety of mental health settings including a private practice, a community mental health clinic, an inpatient hospital, as well as a treatment facility for substance use and co-occurring disorders. She has experience providing both individual and group psychotherapy. Dr. DiOrio’s specialties include general mental health, depression, anxiety/panic, trauma, PTSD, dissociation, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. She is also completing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and evidence-based treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Dr. DiOrio tailors her therapeutic approach to the individual needs of each patient. She takes an integrated approach to therapy by incorporating psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and acceptance/mindfulness-based techniques. Overall, Dr. DiOrio strives to uphold evidence-based practice while conducting herself as a professional, empathic, and flexible practitioner.
