Julie E. Keaveney, Psy.D,
Dr. Julie Keaveney holds diplomatic status in Clinical Neuropsychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Keaveney received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Indiana State University and served as a psychologist on active duty in the United States Air Force for 10 years. She completed her fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology from Walter Reed Army Medical Center. During her training, she had the opportunity to work with brain injured veterans in conjunction with the Defense Veterans Brain Injury Center. Dr. Keaveney spent several years developing expertise working in the area of dementia and provides training to local and regional groups regarding dementia. She is a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology and the International Neuropsychological Society as well as a certified brain injury specialist with the Brain Injury Association of America.
Dr. Keaveney has extensive experience testing adolescents and adults across the lifespan with a variety of neurological conditions including but not limited to; brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, tumor, multiple sclerosis, autoimmune disorders, dementia, learning disabilities, attention-deficit disorders, and psychiatric disorders. Dr. Keaveney provides a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment designed to identify the individual’s strengths and weaknesses. She makes recommendations targeting her patient’s needs with particular focus on follow-up mental health services, accommodations for school and occupation, compensatory strategies, driving safety, and appropriate living arrangements for those who require assistance. Dr. Keaveney works closely in consultation with the referring provider to identify treatment and rehabilitation recommendations.
Dr. Keaveney also practices in Pennsylvania and teaches doctoral level psychology courses at Immaculata University in the areas of geriatrics, psychopharmacology, and neuropsychological assessment. Additionally, she supervises doctoral students in assessment at Mid-Atlantic Behavioral Health.
